Details:
Chess workshops in the school holidays for children. Each workshop is 4 hours long and consists of two 30min lessons and many tournament games. The main instructor for all workshops will be experienced chess teacher Jay Lakner.
There are two workshops available on each workshop date:
Morning Workshop: 8:45am to 12:45pm.
Arrival: between 8:30am and 8:45am. Departure: between 12:45pm and 1:15pm.
Afternoon Workshop: 1:15pm to 5:15pm.
Arrival: between 12:45pm and 1:15pm. Departure: between 5:15pm and 5:30pm.
Every workshop throughout the summer holidays will cover different chess topics. Students who attend multiple workshops, either on the same day or different days, will be taught different aspects of chess and develop different chess skills.
The workshops are designed to cater for all levels. Both novice and advanced chess players will learn important chess knowledge and develop valuable chess skills.
Parents/Guardians may stay and participate in the workshops if they so wish.
Lunch will not be provided. Students who attend both the morning and afternoon sessions on the same day should bring a packed lunch, or make some other lunch arrangement.
Eligibility:
Students must be under the age of 18 and should, at the bare minimum, already know how the chess pieces move and capture.
Cost:
$44.00 per student, per workshop.
